1. Overview
CopyTap is a clipboard history app designed to keep your copied content available on your device. CopyTap does not require an account or login, and its clipboard history is designed to remain on your device rather than being uploaded to a cloud service.
2. Information We Collect
CopyTap does not require you to create an account and does not ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, or other profile information to use the core app.
Based on the current product design, CopyTap does not use analytics to build a usage profile of you.
3. Clipboard Data
CopyTap's primary function is to save clipboard items so you can search, pin, and reuse them later. Clipboard content may include text, links, addresses, codes, notes, and other information that you choose to copy.
- Clipboard history is stored in a local database on your device.
- Clipboard history is not uploaded to CopyTap's cloud servers.
- CopyTap only has access to clipboard content that the operating system makes available to the app.
- If sensitive-content protection is enabled, CopyTap can automatically skip content such as card numbers and API keys so that it is not saved to clipboard history.
You remain responsible for the information you place on your clipboard and for reviewing or deleting stored clips when appropriate.
4. Storage & Security
Your clipboard history is stored locally on your device. CopyTap does not maintain a remote copy of that history as part of its normal clipboard-history operation.
Deleting the app or clearing its application data may remove locally stored clipboard history, depending on your device and operating-system behavior. Keep your own backup only if you need to preserve information outside CopyTap.
5. Network Access
CopyTap may use network access for Premium-status verification. This is separate from clipboard-history storage: the clipboard content itself is not sent to CopyTap servers for this purpose.
CopyTap's current product information states that the only network access used by the app is to check whether Premium is active.
7. Third-Party Services
CopyTap may rely on platform services required to distribute the app and process Premium purchases. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
CopyTap does not use third-party advertising or analytics services as part of the current product design described on this site.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
Clipboard history is retained locally according to CopyTap's history rules and the limits of the plan you use. The free plan currently keeps the latest 30 clipboard items and up to 3 pins; Premium removes those limits described by the product.
You can remove clipboard items from the app. Because clipboard history is stored locally, CopyTap does not need a server-side deletion request to remove the local copy from its systems.
9. Children's Privacy
CopyTap does not knowingly collect personal information from children through account registration because the app does not require an account. If you believe that personal information has been provided to us through a support interaction or another channel, please use the contact method below so it can be reviewed.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when CopyTap's features, data practices, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
